The "per diem" reimbursement method can only be used by employees. Guests and students are reimbursed on the basis of actual cost.

As per Section V.4 of Policy 1202, travel of 50 miles or less from campus does not qualify for lodging or meal reimbursement.

Tax Recovery on International Travel Expenses
Please read about receipt requirements in this CPS travel announcement. In countries that assess local but recoverable taxes such as the Value Added Tax (VAT) in Europe and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Canada, it is imperative that you obtain and submit detailed original receipts in order for the tax to be reclaimed for the University.
